Joseph "Seamus" McKernan

Joseph "Seamus" McKernan is a stylist and educator who founded Golden Fleece Salon in Chicago. He has more than sixteen years of experience in the salon industry and over 20 years of experience in education.

His training includes cosmetology education at Aveda Institute Columbus, cosmetology instructors education at Aveda Institute Chapel Hill, ABC Cutting at Vidal Sassoon Academy in Chicago, Wella Cut Craft at Wella Studio in Los Angeles, Hairpainting 101 at The Paintbox BK, Straight Razor Foundations (DESIGN 1) at Bumble and Bumble NYC, Razor Boot Camp with Nick Arrojo of Arrojo NYC, Depot Men's Cutting at the Space in Chicago, and Sharon Blain Bootcamp styling.

He has been an educator for Wella Professionals for over seven years and teaches live classes with Wella Education. He is a Nioxin Design Team Leader, has been a member of the Nioxin design team, and has worked as a colorist for Nioxin at regional Wella Trendvision and the Chicago ABS Hairshow. He has also styled for a Nioxin online ad campaign and for the Columbus CBS News team. He specializes in color, including balayage and creative color. He was a Wella Trendvision finalist in 2013 and a semi-finalist in 2016 and 2017, and a Behind the Chair One Shot Color finalist in 2014, 2017, and 2018. His work has appeared in Behind the Chair Magazine, and he has been featured in The Zoe Report and Real Simple.
