Joseph A. Russo, MD

Dr. Russo is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 30 years in practice. He sees patients at his Newton office in Newton Centre and performs small surgeries at Milton Hospital. He earned a medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, completed general surgery training at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and trained in plastic surgery at New England Deaconess Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital, programs affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Massachusetts Society of Plastic Surgeons and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the Massachusetts Medical Society. His surgical work includes breast augmentation, breast implant removal and breast revision, along with facelifts, neck lifts and eyelid lifts. He has experience with laser technology, including laser hair removal. He is a trainer for Allergan and Galderma and an Allergan medical institute instructor, and he teaches doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses injectable techniques including Botox Cosmetic and Juvederm. He founded Aesthetic Mentor, which trains aesthetic professionals; it opened in 2013 as the Aesthetic Institute of Massachusetts and was renamed later. He also serves as medical director for several area spas and salons. Media appearances include New Beauty Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Huffington Post, WAAF, WMKK, Boston Magazine, Kiss 108 and Channel 7 WHDH. He was named a New Beauty Top Doctor and once hosted the talk show Change Your Life on WRKO 680 AM. He is recognized by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and other organizations as one of Boston's top plastic surgeons, and he is a national leader in medical aesthetics.
