Jordyn Olawumi

Jordyn Olawumi is the owner of Salon Snob, where she also works as a hair designer. She is a renowned hair designer and has built a reputation as one of Chicago's top colorists. Her clients come from several markets beyond Chicago. She trained as an apprentice under a lead trainer from Vidal Sassoon and later became lead stylist at the Palmer House Hilton. Her work spans hair couture through makeup application, including global keratin treatments, color, blowouts, hair extensions, and updos for weddings and special events. Her career includes high-profile photo shoots and fashion shows, such as New York Fashion Week in 2012. In 2014 she was lead hair designer for nominees at the Midwest Emmy Awards. She has appeared on live segments of WCIU's The Jam, in the Monday Makeovers feature, and on The Tyra Banks Show. Local and national magazines have featured her. She has worked with Katie Couric, Caroline Rhea, Star Jones, Paula Poundstone, Judge Faith Jenkins, Dr. Ava Shamban, Joe Soto, El Debarge, Anne Coyle, Sandra Lee, Ellen Rakieten, and news anchors Kye Martin, Zoraida Sambolin, Ginger Zee, and Alicia Roman.
