John Q. Cook, M.D.

John Q. Cook, M.D. founded Whole Beauty Institute, where he is Medical Director, and he practices aesthetic plastic surgery and medical aesthetics in Chicago and Winnetka, Illinois. He is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and serves as an Attending Plastic Surgeon and faculty member at Rush University Medical Center, where he has been on staff since 1988.

His education started with undergraduate study at Yale University, where he earned a BA cum laude with departmental honors, and continued with an MD from Northwestern University. He completed his surgical residency at Rush University Medical Center and a plastic surgery fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and he holds a master's degree in surgical research from the University of Illinois. Early in his career much of his work focused on breast reconstruction at Rush. He belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Illinois Society of Plastic Surgeons, and he is a former president of the Rush Surgical Society.

His practice concentrates on facial aesthetic surgery, aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery and advanced body contour surgery, and it also offers non-surgical treatments. He has performed fat transfer as part of facial rejuvenation for about 20 years and has more than 20 years of experience with liposuction techniques, including Vaser lipoplasty, SlimLipo, SmartLipo and BodyTite. He developed the structural breast lift technique. He also performs arm contour surgery, a high lateral tension abdominoplasty for significant abdominal looseness, and facial procedures that often combine FaceTite with a minimally invasive cheek lift, fat transfer, HALO laser and IPL.
