John Kowalczyk

John Kowalczyk, DO, FACOS, has practiced urology since 1996. He trained at Midwestern University and completed a fellowship in uroprosthetics at Indiana University. In 2001 he founded the Urology Group of Southern California, which serves patients in downtown Los Angeles.

His areas of expertise include prostate cancer, male impotence, incontinence, urodynamics, and gender dysphoria with gender confirmation surgery. He has published journal articles and a textbook chapter. He has received the David M Shaw Physician of the Year Award at Good Samaritan Hospital and the Physician Educator of the Year Award for the Family Practice Residency Program at Downey Regional Medical Center.

He has served as past president of the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California and as a California delegate to the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates. He has also been an expert reviewer for the Osteopathic Medical Board of California. He sits on the boards of the Physician's Aid Association and the Good Samaritan IPA, and on the Medical Executive Committee of Good Samaritan Hospital.
