Jodi LoGerfo

Jodi LoGerfo works as a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner at Orentreich Medical Group, a dermatology practice on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Since becoming a nurse practitioner in 2002, she has practiced alongside Drs. Norman, Catherine and David Orentreich, and in 2015 she earned Nurse Practitioner Certification in Dermatology. Her caseload spans many skin conditions, handled with lasers, light devices, platelet rich plasma, injectables and skincare products. Hair loss and alopecia are a focus: she identifies patterns and causes, then sets out treatment options. She is considered a master injector and an authority on hair loss. Her background includes clinical consulting for the Estee Lauder Companies, Clinique and Aveda. She is one of Clinique's guiding dermatologists and has supervised its allergy testing protocol, which uses Repeat Insult Patch Testing. She has supervised or developed more than 55 innovative treatments for skin disease and is an Associate of the Orentreich Foundation for the Advancement of Science and the Orentreich Research Corporation. From 2004 to 2012 she hosted the live radio talk show Health Talk. A recent clinical study examined how alopecia affects female patients and how support groups influence their quality of life, and she runs a support group for female alopecia patients together with a clinical psychologist. She belongs to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State, the Dermatology Nurses' Association and the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners. In 2014 she founded Soap 101, a skin cleansing company that makes handmade products without synthetics.
