About
Jessica Pratt is a licensed hairstylist who works independently at The Refuge Salon in Westerly, Rhode Island. She came into the industry at fifteen through a high school cosmetology program at Chariho, where she placed first in Rhode Island and later competed in a national hair cutting and styling competition. After cosmetology school she started at Hair Cuttery, a chain salon, and took extra classes in cutting and coloring there before moving to independent work at The Refuge Salon. Curly and wavy hair is her main focus, and she has taken curl classes covering different techniques for all curl types since 2017. Her first curly cutting class was with Evan Joseph, a Deva Curl educator. She is a Certified Curl Specialist and became officially certified in the Rezo cut in July 2024. Her work covers cutting, styling and care for curly and wavy hair. She works with clients who are learning to love their curls, and with clients who wear their hair naturally and want guidance on caring for it.
