About
Jessica is the colorist and owner of Balayage Pittsburgh. She has worked as a colorist for 15 years, starting with cosmetology school and then an 18-month color apprenticeship at Akari in Portland, Maine, where she trained under Vidal Sassoon stylists and Bumble and Bumble trained colorists. After leaving Akari she opened Balayage Portland in Maine, and she later moved to Pittsburgh from Portland.
Her training continued beyond that apprenticeship. She completed the advanced Color and Styling program at Bumble University in New York City, and she trained in Los Angeles with Maggie Hancock on dimensional copper and red formulations and Linh Phan on platinum global applications and creative color. Further training includes Caitlin Dugan in Connecticut on dimensional brunettes, Amy McManus on balayage technique, and platinum blonding taught by Rachel Williams at Balayage Portland in October 2020.
