Jessica Kidd

Jessica Kidd is the founder of I AM J. KIDD and works as a Sr. Cosmetologist. She began working in the hair industry at age 19. She received a Cosmetology License in 2004.

Her training includes a degree in Public Relations from Morgan State University in 2009 and a Master's in Strategic Communications from the University of Maryland Global Campus, earned in May 2023. She is certified in hair loss, which she has held since 2016, and is certified as a microlink extensionist with two microlink certifications.

Her focus is on healthy hair care and styling. She created a hair elixir line and in-salon herbal treatments for dry, damaged and thinning hair, coined the #BombshellPress silk press technique, and teaches threadless and braidless microlink methods as well as I-Tip and Keratin Tip extension techniques for textured hair. She teaches the importance of continuing education and higher learning to her team, and coaches beauty professionals, including stylists and salon owners. In 2020 she launched the #blackcoloristsmatter social media movement. Her work has been featured in Syn Magazine, Factice Magazine, Zink Magazine and Shuba Magazine.
