About
Jess Prischmann, M.D., is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Golden Valley who treats patients from across the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. She trained as a resident in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Mayo Clinic's Rochester, Minnesota campus, then completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under Stephen W. Perkins, MD. She is board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and in head and neck surgery. She came to medicine from journalism, and between 2013 and 2017 she worked as a medical contributor for WCCO-TV in Minneapolis.
Her surgical work centers on upper eyelid lifts, facelifts aimed at heaviness in the lower face, jowls and the jawline, and reconstruction after Mohs skin cancer surgery. For non-surgical facial rejuvenation she offers Botox, Dysport or Daxxify. She also uses Botox off-label to address masseter relaxation, jaw clenching, bunny lines, lip lines, chin dimpling, gummy smile, jawline softening and platysmal bands.
Her honors include the Blue Chip Award from Boston University (2001), election to Alpha Omega Alpha (2005), the Aaron Selber Leadership Award at LSU (2005), the Jack R. Anderson Prize (2011) for the top national score on the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery examination, and the Ben Shuster Memorial Award (2012) for eyelid surgery research. Several regional publications have named her a Top Doctor, and she has co-authored book chapters on lower eyelid blepharoplasty and the art of blepharoplasty.
From 2013 to 2015 she volunteered at St. Mary's Health Clinics, caring for medically underserved and uninsured patients. She holds that sedated or general anesthesia procedures should have an anesthesiologist on site, and that injectors need a thorough understanding of facial anatomy to lower the risk of complications.
