Janean Wjvold

Janean Wjvold is the owner of Acu-Clinics of Washington, where she works as a medical aesthetician and acupressure therapist and serves as Medical Spa Director. She has held the medical spa role at the clinic since 2002. Her work covers Advanced Micro Current Technology, radio-frequency skin tightening, bt-Titan MN micro-exfoliation, microdermabrasion and cellulite reduction, along with acupressure weight loss and smoking cessation treatments and body treatments using Traditional Chinese Medicine and radio-frequency cavitation. Beyond the clinic, she has held several roles in the beauty and wellness field. These include Medical Spa Director and Medical Aesthetician with NeoGENESIS Life Extension Medical Clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 2002 to 2003, retail sales and consultations at Nordstrom Studio 121 from 2002 to 2003, and Spa Director and Membership Sales at All Star Fitness in downtown Seattle from 2008 to 2010. From 2000 to 2002 she was National Office Manager, Sales Manager, Corporate Educator and Independent Distributor at Bio-Therapeutic, Inc. in Seattle. She previously worked as Health and Fitness Manager at American Woman Health and Fitness and Hart's Athletic Club from 1989 to 1999, and earlier owned Salon Naka, a full-service salon and day spa in downtown Seattle, from 1985 to 1987. Her earlier clinic roles include President of Acu-Clinics of Washington from 1981 to 1985 and General Manager of its Bellevue and Queen Anne clinics in 1980 to 1981. Her training includes beauty school at Renon's and Mr. Lee's from 1978 to 1980 and specialized study with the Center for Chinese Medicine in San Francisco in 1983. She holds Washington licenses in Cosmetology, Aesthetics, Manicuring and Barbering and earned the Certified Corporate Educator credential in 2001, which lets her teach other trainers to use micro current, microdermabrasion and vacuum massage devices. She was voted Seattle's Cosmetologist of the Year in 1985.
