James Rangel

James Rangel works as a Cut Artist at Nova Arts Salon, a sustainable hair salon in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. He began by visiting clients at home across the San Fernando Valley and Ventura. He joined the salon in 2021 and also travels to work alongside stylists in other parts of the country. He holds a cosmetology license from Paul Mitchell The School and trained under Sal Salcedo at Nova Arts Salon. He moved to Los Angeles in 2017 to build a career in hair. His specialties are dry cutting, soft layers, grown-out shags, modern mullets, and custom cuts designed to grow out well. His cuts aim for a relaxed, lived-in look that follows natural texture and each client's personal style.
