James Hooper

The Butterfly Facelift was created by James Hooper, who works at the business as an aesthetic specialist rather than as a physician. He handles consultations himself and builds a customized rejuvenation plan for each client, and he focuses especially on women in their 50s, 60s and 70s who want results that look natural. He has more than 30 years of experience with wellness, recovery and rejuvenation technologies.

He started his career in 1995 at the Whitaker Wellness Institute in Newport Beach, staying until 2002 and helping plan and develop its hyperbaric facility. From 2002 to 2010 he worked at the Ghaly Center in Torrance with Dr. Fouad Ghaly in anti-aging and regenerative wellness, joining him on professional trips to Kuwait, China and Korea. He came up with the Butterfly Facelift concept on his own during those Ghaly Center years, and he opened the Costa Mesa studio in 2010.

His training includes the AQ Skin Solutions Growth Factor Training and Microneedling Procedure program, completed in December 2016, and Ultherapy training through Merz Aesthetics, completed in October 2019. He also received a certificate of attendance for an InMode educational program on Evolve Tite, Trim and Tone technologies in June 2020. His certificates are not medical degrees, professional licenses or endorsements. He was featured in Orange Coast Magazine in 2021.
