James Banich

James Banich is a board-certified plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist listed among the practice's plastic surgeons and as a provider at the Briargate and Pueblo locations. He earned his Doctor of Medicine magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed a residency in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center, followed by three years of general plastic surgery training at Loyola. He earned an undergraduate degree in ecology and evolutionary biology at Princeton University. He practiced for ten years in the Mayo Clinic Health System in northwest Wisconsin, where he was the region's only plastic surgeon. His work covers comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgery, including reconstruction after skin cancer surgery, as well as reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the face, body and breast, such as mommy makeovers and complex trauma repair. He joined Vanguard Skin Specialists in 2017. According to the practice, he received Mayo Health System Service Gold Excellence Awards for patient experience in 2008 and 2015, and he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in 1998.
