Jaimee T. Bloom

Jaimee T. Bloom owns Portland Electrolysis & Skin Care. She holds Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE) certification and an Oregon Licensed Electrologist (LE) license. She joined the American Electrology Association in 1984 and sat for the inaugural CPE test, given in 1985. She has practiced electrolysis for 43 years. After five years in New York, she opened the Portland office in 1988, the same year she joined the Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologists. Her leadership roles include three years on the Board of the New York Electrolysis Association, where she served as Vice-President, Newsletter Editor and By-laws Chairman. In Oregon she has been President, Vice-President and IT Chairperson of the Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologists, and she is currently listed as President. The State of Oregon licensed her as an electrolysis instructor in 1991, and she is a former Oregon Licensed Electrolysis Instructor. For about fifteen years she has proctored the practical portion of the state licensing exam for the Oregon State Health Licensing Agency. In 2004, IBEC invited her to join the panel that wrote new questions for the upgraded CPE exam. The Governor of Oregon appointed her to the Oregon Electrolysis Advisory Council in 2000; she became its Chairman in 2002 and is a past chairperson. She was reappointed to the Health Advisory Agency for a six-year term in 2010, and in 2017 she received the Gold Probe Award, which recognizes her work leading and serving the field of electrolysis hair removal. She has spoken at the AEA National Convention in Chicago in 2008 and at AEA state seminars in Texas, Oregon and Washington. She has prepared written presentations on male and transgender client work, and has worked with those clients since she began practicing. Other electrologists consult her on this work. She considers professional certification of paramount importance.
