JaBreia James

JaBreia James is a board-eligible dermatologist at DESSNA in Marietta; the listing notes board-eligible status rather than board-certified. Her practice covers medical dermatology, cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology, skin of color, and hair loss and alopecia. She holds a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, earned in 2022, followed by a preliminary internal medicine internship at Emory University School of Medicine in 2023 and a dermatology residency in the Harvard Combined Dermatology Program from 2023 to 2026. During residency she was Chief Resident at the Harvard Dermatology Program from 2025 to 2026, coordinating clinical schedules for 33 dermatology residents across five academic sites. She also served three years on the Cosmetic Curriculum Committee, worked as Social Media Chair, and was a resident representative on the Program Evaluation Committee. Earlier, at the Medical College of Georgia, she co-founded two dean-level bodies: a Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and a Task Force for Examination of Bias in Curriculum. Her research addresses hidradenitis suppurativa, alopecia, skin of color, and health equity in dermatology, and has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Clinics. She received the HS Foundation Danby Research Grant for 2024 to 2025 and has presented at national and international conferences. She belongs to the American Academy of Dermatology, the Skin of Color Society, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She sees patients from diverse communities who are seeking medical or cosmetic dermatology care.
