About
Irene Gladstein, MD, FACS founded Project Glammers and serves as its medical director. She is a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon and a master injector. She earned a bachelor's degree from New York University's School of Arts and Science and a doctorate from the School of Medicine there. Her residency was completed at New York University Medical Center and at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. She then trained in a fellowship in cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery at the Neigel Center for Cosmetic Surgery, which is part of St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a certified practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine, where she also completed advanced functional medicine training. She was drawn to oculofacial work because it combines artistry with intellectual demands. Her practice centers on injectables and aesthetic medicine, with an emphasis on longevity and regenerative medicine, approached as whole-person care. She speaks publicly and trains staff for global aesthetics manufacturers. She sits on the Facial Aesthetic Faculty for Allergan Cosmetic and on its Aesthetics Advisory Panel, and is part of the NewBeauty Brain Trust. She has written articles and book chapters, takes part in clinical studies of new injectables and technologies, and was principal investigator on an FDA study of a Merz Aesthetics filler. She is a former president of the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation, has served on its board, and remains active in the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. She also founded Project Glammers LEAP, a program for aesthetic providers.
