About

Imran Amir founded City Dermatology Skin Institute and directs it. He is board-certified in dermatology and internal medicine and is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. Most of his skin cancer cases are treated with Mohs surgery, and he also manages nonsurgical skin cancers and melanoma, as well as general skin conditions such as rashes, psoriasis and eczema. Alongside Dr. Barbara Vail, he co-leads the Skin Cancer and Melanoma Center in Bensalem and Warminster. He completed his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by training in Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery and in cosmetic dermatologic surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Medical Center in New York. He received the Stelwagon Award from the College of Physicians of Philadelphia for research completed during residency. He holds training certificates in Vampire Facelift and Vaser procedures. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has more than 20 years of experience as a dermatologist and has appeared on Philadelphia Magazine's Top Doc list year after year. He uses advanced dermoscopy to examine features below the skin's surface, and he performs head-to-toe full-body exams together with his staff. He evaluates each skin cancer case individually to decide whether superficial radiation therapy or electronic brachytherapy is suitable, and he tracks healing throughout treatment.
