Her training started at Yale University, where she earned a B.A. in molecular, cellular and developmental biology, graduating cum laude with distinction in the major. She then completed an M.D. with distinctions in service and research at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, finishing in the top 10% of her class and receiving the Janet M. After an internal medicine internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, she trained in dermatology at the University of Texas Houston/MD Anderson Cancer Center, serving as chief resident in her final year, and later completed a fellowship in dermatology and laser surgery.
Her work covers medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, with particular experience treating skin of color and all skin types. Medical care includes acne and acne scarring, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, pigmentation disorders, and skin cancer screening and diagnosis. Laser treatments include fractional resurfacing, laser hair removal, treatment of vascular lesions and port-wine birthmarks, and pigmented lesions. Surgical work includes excisions, mole removal and biopsy, and cyst and lipoma removal. Patients come from across Houston, including the Medical Center, River Oaks, Memorial and The Woodlands, and some families have seen her across multiple generations. She was principal investigator for the LOOP Study (2016-2017), sponsored by AbbVie, and is co-author of 17 peer-reviewed publications, including laser dermatology papers with Dr. Paul M. Friedman from 2022 to 2025. The practice says she has received multiple Top Doctor awards; the site also lists her as a Texas Super Doctor (2017-2025), a Texas Super Doctors Rising Star (2013-2015), a member of America's Top Dermatologists (2013-2016) and in Texas Monthly Top Doctors (July 2015).
