About
Haruko Okada is a plastic surgeon who owns and practices at Stratus Plastic Surgery in Dublin, Ohio, where her work spans aesthetic surgery, gender affirmation surgery and hand surgery. She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and holds the Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand. She is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
Her training began at Brown University, followed by Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she received membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society. She then completed a six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, and a Combined Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Connecticut under Dr. Kirk Watson. Afterward she practiced as a plastic surgeon with OhioHealth Physician Group in Columbus.
Her cosmetic practice covers standard, mini and extended abdominoplasty, and liposuction performed with tumescent and suction-assisted methods. She has years of experience with Juvederm, and she has performed thousands of cosmetic surgeries and aesthetic injections. Her hand surgery work addresses trauma, function restoration and arthritis. She has also managed complex reconstruction, such as polytrauma cases with facial fractures and soft tissue loss in the face, hand and upper extremity.
She founded a gender affirmation surgery program in a hospital setting and now carries that work on privately at Stratus, performing masculinizing chest surgery for transgender and non-binary patients seeking a more masculine or gender-neutral chest. Those patients are treated in private.
