Gregory Lewen, MD is the practice's physician and a double board-certified ophthalmologist and oculofacial plastic surgeon, who performs the practice's eyelid and facial plastic surgery. Lewen completed an ophthalmology residency at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System in New York, where he was chief resident in the final year, followed by a double fellowship in cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery. Further training included reconstructive surgery on emergency trauma patients at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and aesthetic laser and cosmetic surgical procedures at Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons of Texas. The practice describes his training as extensive. His practice covers eyelid surgery and blepharoplasty, refined eye rejuvenation, and aesthetic, functional and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, mid-face and upper face. He is the only clinician at the practice who performs CO2 laser skin resurfacing, and he regularly places sub-brow fillers. Before a consultation, he reviews cosmetic and medical history, past photos and relevant labs, and takes standardized photos. He tailors laser settings to each patient's goals and the downtime they can accommodate. He builds personal relationships with patients and works to make each person feel their concerns are heard.
