About
Gladys is the owner and stylist of Estilos NY Gladys. She began her styling career in Venezuela at age 25, training alongside established Venezuelan stylists, some of whom had won the Tijera de Oro competition, who mentored her in cutting, styling and color. Her early work included a Caracas salon, JanPool, linked to Venezuelan beauty competitions.
In the mid-1980s she moved to Ecuador, where Wella hired her to teach color seminars to beauty professionals. She later became a stylist for Ecuavisa on the television soap opera Los que vendran, and opened her own salon in Guayaquil. From 2000 on she worked and continued her training in New York, and in May 2018 she opened Estilos NY Gladys there.
She took part in the IBS conventions, now called the Be+Well Beauty and Wellness Show, between 2015 and 2017.
