Genevieve (Bebe)

Genevieve, who goes by Bebe, works as a freelance stylist and is listed as the Curly Hair Aficionado. She started her career in 1990 and has more than 35 years in the industry, about 30 of them working as a stylist in San Francisco and the Bay Area. She completed a four-year apprenticeship with a top San Francisco stylist after training. Her training includes study at the Lakme Color Academy in Barcelona, work with Jessie Curl in New York, training with Diva in the Bay Area, and training with Ouidad in Los Angeles. She opened her own salon in 2000 and was the previous owner of Sassy in Glen Park for 22 years before moving to freelance work. She now runs a co-op salon in Noe Valley and travels to several locations, including San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Lake County and Las Vegas. She focuses on curly, coiled, wavy and textured hair using the Ouidad method, and on cuts such as modern razor shags, French bobs, face-framing layers and volume work. Grey blending and color for grey hair are part of her work, and many of her clients have had grey hair for years. She puts consultations first, prefers gentle ammonia-free color for a natural look, and aims to keep hair care low-maintenance. Her clients are a diverse community across all hair textures, and some have stayed with her since she was first trained.
