Gabi Curbelo

Gabi Curbelo is a California-licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist at Golden Bay Acupuncture, and holds national certification as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM Dipl. O.M.). She completed a Master of Science in East-Asian Medicine at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, graduating summa cum laude, and earned a bachelor's degree in Latin American Economic Development from Middlebury College. Her training in therapeutic facial acupuncture is extensive, and she studies closely with Dr. Jenny Nieters and Whitfield Reaves. She has also developed her own approach to facial work. Sports acupuncture and therapeutic facial acupuncture are her main focus. On the face, she treats rosacea, acne, trigeminal neuralgia, and jaw tension or TMJ. For the body, she addresses joint pain, sports injury recovery, and tight, sore muscles, with a particular interest in athletes who aim to stay in training and competition and move comfortably as they age. She also enjoys working with adolescents. Before becoming an acupuncturist, she played professionally in soccer for the Puerto Rican National Team, taught Pilates and yoga, and taught high school Spanish. She speaks Spanish.
