About
Fatima Rahman owns FS Charlie, where she works as a stylist and educator. Her formal training is as a makeup artist, and she worked in film and television with Michael White and Deborah Dietrich.
Her hair and makeup credits include the film Milk and headshot sessions for aspiring actors. Over 12 years she worked on fashion shoots and high-profile fashion shows in Los Angeles and New York. At Rare she worked on runway shows, including Christian Dior, and with celebrity clients. She apprenticed with Ruth Roche and later took over the salon Roche had run, from November 2010 until late 2015.
She works with South Asian brides, covering hair, makeup, henna and threading, and she dresses brides and bridal parties in traditional attire. She learned eyebrow threading and henna art from Sumita Batra of Ziba Beauty. She travels to clients as needed.
She believes that knowing how to shape an experience for clients is the key skill for a good hair stylist, and she wants to lift the hair industry up as a whole.
