Erika Bethea

Erika Bethea owns Honeylocs Natural Hair Care. She works in natural hair education, consulting and advocacy, and she is a licensed cosmetologist with over 15 years of experience as a loctician and natural hair stylist.

She trained at Toni & Guy Academy, graduating with honors, and is a Rezo Certified Curly Cutting and Color Specialist. She also holds a B.A. in business administration from Winston Salem State University, an HBCU.

She opened Honeylocs Natural Hair Care Salon in Plano, Texas in 2010. She co-authored the 2015 book Behind Her Brand Vol 2 about building her business, expanded her natural hair educational consulting to Ghana in 2020, and produced the Instagram Live series Building Bridges: The Ghana Connection with Mane Moves media.

Her mission is to educate women and girls who wear naturally textured hair and to raise awareness of textured hair bias.
