Emily Gonzales

Emily Gonzales is a Registered Nurse whose practice is built around hospice and IV therapy. She is currently a Patient Care Manager in hospice, where she directs nursing care and backs up case managers. Before that she was a hospice case manager, and later a clinical director of hospice. Her nursing began at the bedside and then took her into patients' homes. In more recent years she has headed hospice teams across the South Sound. In the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic she worked as an Infection Preventionist. Her skill set includes placing IVs and managing lines, wound care, giving medications, and complete patient assessment. She has practiced in private homes, procedural suites and long-term care facilities, and has run IV therapy for patients whose veins are hard to access and whose clinical margins are narrow.
