Emily Forbes, DNP, FNP-C, MHA

Emily Forbes is a nurse practitioner at North Tex MedCare Clinic and Urgent Care, serving the Allen, Addison, Fort Worth and San Antonio, Texas locations. She holds DNP, FNP-C and MHA credentials and has more than 20 years of professional experience in nursing.

Her education began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winona State University. She then completed a dual program at the University of Minnesota, earning a Master of Science in Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner and Healthcare Administration in 2009, followed by a post-master's Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Hawaii Pacific University in 2010. In 2018 she earned a Doctor of Nurse Practice from the University of Texas at Arlington, with a doctoral thesis on reducing hospital readmission rates through transitional care models for post-acute needs. She has also taught as a nursing faculty member at several institutions and co-created a medical trivia game, Who Calls the Shots?, which launched nationally.

Her clinical experience spans cardiology, infectious disease, chronic disease management, women's health, and wellness and weight loss management.
