Elizabeth K. Hale, MD

Elizabeth K. Hale, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and clinical associate professor of dermatology at New York University Langone Medical Center. She also serves as vice president of The Skin Cancer Foundation. Her focus areas are Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery, and she has substantial experience treating skin cancer. She gives lectures on managing photoaging with current lasers and injectable treatments. She earned her undergraduate degree cum laude from Cornell University and her medical degree from NYU, where she was chosen for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha. Her dermatology residency took place at NYU's Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology, where she served as chief resident. She is a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Across eight years, she co-directed NYU's Procedural Dermatology Fellowship and the department's yearly Advances in Dermatology symposium. She co-wrote the Handbook of Dermatologic Surgery with Julie K. Karen, MD and Perry Robins, MD. She was named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in 2026 and appears on New York Magazine's Best Doctors list for dermatology, a ranking based on peer surveys. Residents in NYU's dermatology program gave her their Surgical Attending of the Year Award. National broadcast, print and online outlets have quoted her on skincare.
