Edward Szachowicz

Edward Szachowicz, MD, serves as the surgeon at the practice and is a facial plastic surgeon certified by two boards: the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and of the American College of Surgeons. His education began with a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, followed by an MD from the University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Later he completed a five-year combined program at the University of Minnesota, covering otolaryngology residency and a PhD, then a one-year fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Afterward he held a dual faculty appointment in that department and worked as a trauma surgeon at St. Paul-Ramsey Hospital, now Regions Hospital. He also completed the 33rd Mendelson Advanced Facial Anatomy and Facial Rejuvenation Course at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He has lectured at national scientific sessions for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Academy of Laser Medicine and Surgery and the Northstar Dental Association, and has led national physician seminars on CO2 laser resurfacing. Since 2007 he has used the Fraxel CO2 laser for skin resurfacing. He donated surgical care in the Marshall Islands in 1989. Through American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery outreach missions, he also donated surgical care in Zagreb, Croatia, in spring 1993. With more than 25 years in practice as a facial plastic surgeon, he sees mostly mature patients. His aim is results that restore and look youthful while staying in step with each patient's age.
