Dr. Zenovia Gabriel

Dr. Zenovia Gabriel founded ZENA Medical at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, where she works as a board-certified dermatologist and leads its aesthetic care. She has practiced dermatology for more than twenty years, across medical, surgical and cosmetic work, including skin cancer surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, lasers, Botox, fillers and chemical peels. For more than fifteen years she has specialized in low-dose isotretinoin (Accutane) protocols, and according to the practice, those protocols and her acne work are cited nationally. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Education with high distinction at UC Berkeley, then her medical doctorate at UC San Diego, where she received several scholarships, senior medical student awards and the Freedom Research Award, presented each year to one outstanding student there. Her training continued with an internship in internal medicine at UC San Diego Medical Center, a dermatology residency at USC where she was chief resident in her senior year, and assistance with clinical research trials in the Department of Rheumatology at UCLA Medical Center. She belongs to the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. Beyond the clinic, she taught the Pathology of the Skin course as a medical student instructor at USC School of Medicine. She has been featured as a medical expert in seminars alongside Neutrogena, L'Oreal Paris, Johnson and Johnson and Allergan, speaks nationally and internationally, and has worked as a medical expert influencer on social media and podcasts. She also created and launched an international skincare brand sold through Sephora. According to the practice, she is an award-winning dermatologist, and her peers have voted her OC Top Doctor numerous times. Her virtual consultations include an assessment of the patient's skin, a plan built around that assessment, and a direct answer on what will and will not help.
