Dr. Yanzhu Liu

Dr. Yanzhu Liu founded ACA Acupuncture & Wellness and serves as managing acupuncturist at the Washington Heights location. He is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac) with over 35 years of clinical experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine. A professor and PhD supervisor at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he was previously an associate research scientist at Columbia University, where he spent more than 13 years researching atherosclerosis and studied hyperlipidemia and arterial disease. He holds an MD/PhD from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and completed postdoctoral training at Tsinghua University. His patents include one for an atherosclerosis treatment and four for AI-driven medical devices. He developed AI acupoint detection technology and serves as chief editor of Internal Medicine – Chinese Medicine, and he has contributed to five medical books. According to the salon, his abdominal acupuncture technique is highly effective for stubborn conditions, and the salon calls him a highly respected expert in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
