Dr. Yan Wang

Dr. Yan Wang co-founded WW Groups and DR WW Dermatology PLLC. She serves as Medical Director of the med spas and owns DR WW Medical Spas. She is a board-certified physician with experience in medical aesthetics and dermatology. She earned a medical degree from Shandong Medical College in the PRC (1982) and a master's degree in human genetics from Beijing Medical University in the PRC (1986). She completed her internal medicine residency at the Mount Sinai Bronx VA Program in 2000. Earlier, she was a research associate at NYU Medical Center, then a research assistant professor of cell biology and neuroscience at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1990 to 1995, and a research assistant professor in the dermatology department at Mount Sinai School of Medicine from 1995 to 1998. Her early research concerned tau protein in Alzheimer's disease, and her first-authored tau paper appeared on the cover of the Journal of Cell Biology in 1994. She also studied oxygen free radicals and UV light in DNA damage, skin cancer and skin aging. She has more than 30 publications spanning dermatology, cell biology and neuroscience. She is a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians.
