Dr. Vinay

Dr. Vinay founded Northwestern Hair Restoration, a physician-owned clinic in Chicago, and works there as a hair loss physician and hair transplant surgeon. He performs every consultation, procedure, hairline design and long-term follow-up at the practice. He began practicing in Chicago in 2009, is a past president of the International Hair Institute, and holds a Louise E. Fazen Endowed Scholar appointment at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

He developed Micro PUE, a refinement of FUE that extracts the full pilosebaceous unit, and introduced Autologous Cellular Serum (ACS) to hair restoration as a non-surgical treatment adapted from orthopedic surgery. The practice describes him as a pioneer of ACS and as a two-time world record holder for hair transplantation. He also co-developed Adaptive Trichopigmentation for female hair loss and, with Dr. Kiracofe, the Women's Hair Restoration Program. He sees women's patients, including for ACS treatments and at-home plans, manages their medical regimens directly, and adjusts those plans over several months. He designs and performs transplants for women who are candidates, at the Chicago flagship.

He spent more than a decade building a hairline design method based on proportions, face shapes and aging patterns. He sees patients in person at the Clarendon Hills clinic and at the Deerfield clinic on his rotation days, and he works a Saturday rotation at Magic Ink SMP in Winnetka.
