Dr. Sydney Larkin Proffer

Dr. Sydney Larkin Proffer is a board-certified dermatologist, certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and holds medical licenses in several states. Her listed credentials are MD, MS and FAAD. She earned a bachelor's degree in neuroscience with a minor in mathematics from Middlebury College, graduating with honors, and then an MD from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. During medical school she also completed a master's degree in health care delivery at Arizona State University. Following a preliminary year of internal medicine at The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, Ohio, she completed a dermatology residency at the Mayo Clinic. She then took a dual fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, in Micrographic Surgery and Dermato-Oncology and in Cosmetic Dermatology, training under Dr. Murad Alam. Her additional certifications cover biostatistics, evidence-based medicine, process engineering and quality improvement. Her practice centers on Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer removal and facial reconstruction, and includes cosmetic work such as BOTOX Cosmetic and laser hair removal. Her background includes research, quality improvement projects and teaching for physicians. She belongs to the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Women's Dermatologic Society and the American College of Mohs Surgery.
