Dr. Steven Franks

Dr. Steven Franks is a dermatologist with more than 30 years in practice, and he holds board certification. He earned a degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his medical degree at Tufts University Medical School. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, first certified in 1977 and recertified in 1999, and also holds Diplomate status with the National Board of Medical Examiners. After medical school, he spent 1971 to 1973 on active duty as a Captain and General Medical Officer with the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and in Boston. He taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School from 1978 to 2000, and at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2000 and 2001. His hospital affiliations include Lowell General Hospital, Emerson Hospital, Marlborough Hospital and UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. He was President of the Massachusetts Academy of Dermatology in 1992 and 1993. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and belongs to the American Medical Association, the New England Dermatological Society and the Massachusetts Medical Society. His practice covers adult and pediatric dermatology, and he tailors chemical peel treatments to each patient's skin type and goals.
