Dr. Steve Weston

Dr. Steve Weston is the Medical Director of Azura Medical Spa and co-founded the practice with Lisa Weston. He earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and attended medical school at Southern Illinois University. He completed a general surgery residency at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, training at Cabell Huntington Hospital and a large VA Medical Center, and he is board certified, placing in the 98th percentile on the recertification examination.

He has more than 30 years of experience. During residency he gained extensive experience with burns, skin grafting and skin care, and during training he worked alongside a pediatric surgeon in West Virginia, which gave him extensive pediatric experience. In private practice he has performed thousands of endoscopic, laparoscopic and vascular procedures.

He has more than 20 years of experience using YAG and KTP lasers and more recently uses nitrogen plasma energy for skin regeneration. He has spent the past 17 years in the Charlotte area, where he also staffs an advanced wound care center equipped with hyperbaric oxygen chambers and skin substitutes.
