Dr. Shahnoos Mahdavi

Dr. Shahnoos Mahdavi runs Novel U Wellness & Med Spa as founder and chief executive, and she also practices there as a physician, leading the clinical team. Her medical degree (MD) came from Azad University's Tehran Medical Branch in Tehran, Iran, in 2000. She completed an internal medicine residency at AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 2008, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in radiation oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Early in her career she worked in emergency medicine. Later she served as an internal medicine hospitalist at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware, and at Monarch Healthcare, part of Optum Care, in Irvine, California. Her research spans critical care, sepsis, radiation oncology, cancer gene therapy and cardiovascular risk factors. That work includes projects at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey, and she contributed to the international INTERHEART study of risk factors for heart attack. Her papers have appeared in Cancer Gene Therapy and the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association. Her clinical focus covers internal medicine, hormone health, personalized wellness, medical weight management and aesthetic medicine. She is skilled with injectables and cosmetic treatments, including Botox, lip filler, RF microneedling, hormone therapy and acne treatment, and walks patients through each procedure step by step before and during treatment. Her memberships include the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the North American Menopause Society and the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
