Dr. Sadiqa Stelzner

Dr. Sadiqa Stelzner is an ophthalmologist and serves as director of Santa Monica Eye Medical Group, an eye care practice based in Santa Monica, California. She oversees the staff at the practice's in-house surgery center and is an associate professor at UCLA. Her clinical focus is cataract surgery and laser refractive surgery, including LASIK, and she and her team offer several LASIK options. She completed a fellowship in research at the National Institutes of Health, tied to Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. She has carried out research, taught, and published many peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals. She was invited to Milan, Italy, to do scientific research funded by a grant from the Italian Council of Science. She speaks at ophthalmology conferences across the United States and abroad, most recently visiting several hospitals in Japan. Twice a year she sits on the faculty teaching cataract surgery courses for ophthalmology residents from UCLA, USC, UCI, UCSD and Loma Linda. She has traveled with a humanitarian team to Mexico and El Salvador, performing sight-restoring surgeries and teaching local eye physicians her surgical methods. She also volunteers regularly at local high schools, offering eye care to students and their families.
