Dr. S. Alison Basak

Dr. Basak owns Dermatology Healthcare Excellence and holds double board certification as a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. She received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where she also earned a master's in biomedical sciences with a focus on neuroimmunology and completed an undergraduate double major in Spanish literature and biology. Her dermatology residency was at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

After residency, she trained in a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, working under Dr. Nicholas Golda. She has since completed additional training in skin cancer surgery and advanced facial plastic reconstruction. Her specialties are general medical dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery and complex plastic reconstructive surgery, with additional interests in aesthetic skin enhancement and the detection and treatment of skin cancer. She has more than ten years of experience in dermatology.
