Dr. Robert Nossa

Dr. Robert Nossa founded Contemporary Dermatology and serves as its medical director. The practice has offices in Massachusetts and New Jersey, and he is based at the Marstons Mills, MA office. He is a board-certified dermatologist whose work spans medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology, with most of his time going to medical dermatology and nonsurgical cosmetic treatments. He earned his medical degree at Stony Brook University in New York. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Brown University School of Medicine, and during his dermatology residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine he served as chief resident. As principal investigator, he has contributed to clinical studies published in medical journals and textbooks on melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancer, atopic dermatitis, common warts, alopecia areata and plaque psoriasis.

Skin cancer is a large part of his practice. He detects and treats melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, uses the ABCDs (asymmetry, border, color, diameter) to spot melanoma, and performs full-body skin screenings. He marks areas of concern, teaches patients how to examine their own skin between visits, and tailors removal to each cancer's location, size and type. On the cosmetic side he offers laser skin resurfacing and laser tattoo removal, and he has experience giving BOTOX injections for hyperhidrosis. For acne, he begins with a consultation and skin analysis before building a treatment plan.
