Dr. Robert Herbstman

Dr. Robert Herbstman is a board-certified plastic surgeon who practices at Contemporary Plastic Surgery, including at its Colts Neck office. He has been in practice for over 20 years, with a particular focus on breast surgery, covering augmentation, lift, reduction and reconstruction. He has performed breast reconstruction since the early 1990s and was one of the founding members of the St. Peter's University Hospital Breast Center. Before a breast augmentation, he takes considerable time with each patient to define aesthetic goals and suggest suitable options. He also performs facelifts, adapting the Contemporary facelift variations to each patient's facial structure. His facelift technique rebuilds volume and re-suspends the supporting tissue under the skin instead of simply tightening the skin. For male patients he tailors facelift surgery, uses minimally invasive short-scar methods for mild sagging, and performs dermabrasion alongside other surgical and non-surgical procedures. He is a frequent lecturer and educator on breast surgery and was named president of the New Jersey Plastic Surgery Society in April 2018. He has worked with the Susan G. Komen Foundation for 20 years and received its leadership award.
