Dr. Raja Mohan

Dallas-based plastic surgeon Dr. Raja Mohan is board-certified and holds certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He heads Dr. Raj Plastic Surgery, where his work spans aesthetic and reconstructive procedures on the face, breasts and body, and his practice also includes non-surgical treatments.

Training began with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from MIT. He completed research fellowships at the National Institutes of Health and did research at the University of Maryland's Composite Tissue Allotransplantation Lab on face transplantation. He received a merit scholarship to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, graduating in the top 5% of his class. A seven-year integrated plastic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins was followed by a one-year aesthetic surgery fellowship at Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, which is ASAPS-approved. Earlier, he worked with the division of plastic surgery at the University of Miami. He has peer-reviewed papers in plastic surgery journals and research published in journals including Nature and Neuron.

Non-invasive training covers injectable fillers, botulinum toxins, chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing. His Botox and Dysport training includes advanced study of facial musculature and anatomy, and his neurotoxin treatments are customized to preserve natural facial movement.

His surgical interests include high-definition liposuction, advanced tummy tuck techniques, postpartum and athletic body contouring, and 3-D body sculpting. In breast surgery he performs augmentation, complex revision, lifts and reduction. Facial procedures include deep plane facelifts, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, facial fat transfer, and pretrichial and hairline brow lifts. Surgical candidates have a consultation that includes a review of medical history and a physical exam.

Recognitions include a Castle Connolly Top Doctor listing for 2026, D Magazine Top Doctors for 2024 and 2025, Super Doctors Texas, and a Top 10 Plastic Surgeons in Dallas listing. He received a Best Paper Award in Reconstructive Surgery at a 2015 research symposium and placed second at a 2013 symposium.
