Dr. Naveed Shafi

Dr. Naveed Shafi practices sports medicine at Lighthouse Medical Center, concentrating on non-surgical orthopedics and injury rehabilitation. Clinical work includes evaluating neck, back and hip pain and rehabilitating patients after traumatic injuries. He holds an M.D., completed his residency and board certification at the Cleveland Clinic, and then trained in a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the University of South Carolina. He received board certification in sports medicine in 2003 and has practiced since. His team physician roles have included the Florida Panthers NHL, the Florida Bobcats arena football team, the Miami Fusion MLS team, all 19 University of South Carolina Division I athletic teams and the Capital City Bombers. Before joining Lighthouse, he served as Medical Director, Professor and Head Team Physician for all 17 Florida Atlantic University teams. He has worked with athletes from TCU, SMU, the Special Olympics and various high schools, and has served as a physician at NCAA championships and for Olympic athletes. He is a Certified Medical Review Officer and holds certification in hyperbaric and dive medicine. Patients and staff know him as a charismatic physician who spends quality time with each patient.
