Dr. Natalya Borakowski, NMD, founded Desert Bloom Skincare in Scottsdale and oversees treatment planning for its scar work at Desert Bloom. She has practiced aesthetic medicine for over twenty years. Her first question at every jaw consultation is whether the width comes from muscle, bone or both, and muscle-driven squareness is corrected non-surgically while true bony width is discussed separately. She classifies each scar by type, age and skin tone before building a treatment plan. Most scars improve significantly but not always completely, and that expectation is set at the first visit. She counsels patients whose scars are not yet ready for treatment to wait before scheduling. When surgery or medical management is the right first step, she refers patients to plastic surgery or dermatology.
