Dr. Monica Bello

Dr. Monica Bello is CEO of Welbeauty and works as an internist physician focused on obesity medicine. She earned her M.D. at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud, in the Dominican Republic, then completed her internal medicine residency at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio, part of Cleveland Clinic.

Her certifications come from the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine, and she is a diplomate of the aesthetic board. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Earlier, she worked as a co-investigator at Akron General on research into sleeve gastrectomy and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and as a research technician at New York University.

Clinically, her current work includes MIB Surgery, Memorial Hospital Regional, Memorial Hospital Miramar and Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama, plus a practice at Memorial Hospital South in Hollywood, Florida. Past roles include several hospitals in Florida and Alabama, including UF Health Shands and Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.

Outside the clinic, she mentors for the Obesity Medicine Association and serves as President of the Dominican Health Care Association of Florida (DOHCAF). She teaches through educational seminars, workshops and online platforms.
