Dr. Michael W. Gray

Dr. Michael W. Gray is a cosmetic surgeon at Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center in West Bloomfield, where he holds a D.O. degree and the FACOS credential. He serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at CMU Medical School and is board certified in general surgery, a certification dated 1995. His practice is built around total body aesthetic surgery.

His education started with a Presidential Scholarship to the University of Miami, where he graduated cum laude in 1984. He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Southeastern University of Health Sciences in Florida. He then completed a residency at the Chicago Osteopathic Medical Centers of Midwestern University, serving as chief resident there. Afterward he completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship in total body aesthetic surgery at those same centers, accredited through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He also completed a fellowship in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Northwestern University School of Dentistry in Chicago.

He concentrates on all forms of liposuction, including external ultrasonic liposuction, Smart Lipo MPX, The Perfect Lipo and Zerona. His breast work includes scarless and traditional augmentation with silicone or saline implants, breast lifts, and surgical and non-surgical breast reduction. He also performs head and neck lifts, tucks and facial enhancement, and minimally invasive correction of inverted nipples. Laser and skin rejuvenation have been part of his work for more than two decades. He developed the Hourglass Tummy Tuck and the Neck Sling, and he invented TheraSCAR, a topical ointment used to help skin heal. He treats both men and women.

He has taught as a guest speaker and instructor for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Live Surgery Workshop, covering breast augmentation and mastopexy. In 2000 he lectured before the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and he was one of ten panelists at the National Forum of Breast Implants. He has published numerous articles and has been interviewed about cosmetic surgery on Detroit-area television and radio. His professional memberships include the Michigan Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
