Dr. Michael Malczewski is a board-certified plastic surgeon at the practice. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and he holds active staff appointments at major hospitals in Northwest Indiana. He has worked in the region for about 27 years. After a surgical internship at Loyola University and a general surgery residency at Michigan State University, he trained in plastic surgery at Southern Illinois University, finishing in 1995 under Dr. Elvin Zook. He also returns to medical education programs for several weeks a year to keep up with newer methods. The practice covers plastic surgery across the board, with cosmetic work as a particular focus, along with reconstruction for deformities resulting from breast cancer surgery and from massive weight loss. He is an expert in the endoscopic minimal incision brow lift and was among the first in the area to offer it. He also performs minimal incision blepharoplasty, including the transconjunctival approach. Short scar mastopexy breast lifts are part of his work, as are traditional, ultrasonic and power-assisted liposuction. Patients are encouraged to talk openly about surgical risks and goals, and decisions are approached as a joint effort. Time for questions is available for each patient, including on the busiest days.
