About
Dr. Godin is board certified twice in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and holds a Clinical Professor appointment at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. Since 1993 he has led the facial plastic and reconstructive surgery work within the university's otolaryngology and head and neck surgery department. In 2004 the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery appointed him Fellowship Director in Facial Plastic Surgery. His certifications come from the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He has worked as a facial plastic surgeon for more than 25 years, more than 20 of them in Richmond. He earned dual bachelor's degrees at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and graduated with honors from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. A surgical internship and a four-year head and neck surgery residency followed at the University of California, San Diego. He then completed a one-year advanced fellowship at Tulane in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, face, ears and neck, training under Dr. Calvin Johnson. His operative work includes deep plane facelifts, brow lifts and upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty. He developed the Micro-Mini Lift, a small-incision procedure for early aging of the jawline and neck, and holds its trademark. He also provides non-surgical rejuvenation with Botox and dermal fillers, and the practice says he stands behind or personally performs every Botox treatment there. He sits on the national medical education faculty for Botox with Allergan Corporation and for Radiesse with Bioform Medical Corporation, and is a Distinguished Member Physician of the Liquid Facelift Association. He has published on combined filler treatments, including an article on combining Radiesse and Restylane. The practice describes him as a nationally recognized expert in dermal fillers. Richmond Magazine's poll voted him Best Rhinoplasty Surgeon for Women in 2001 and 2009, and Style Magazine readers named him Richmond's Best Plastic Surgeon in 1999. Inside Business Magazine included him among Richmond's top 40 under 40, and he has been named to Newsweek and Statista lists.
