Dr. Michael E. Jackson

Dr. Michael E. Jackson founded Jackson Dermatology PLLC, which he directs, and has practiced in the Brooklyn community for more than 25 years. He completed undergraduate training in electrical engineering and psychology at SUNY Stony Brook University, then trained at SUNY Downstate Medical Center for medical school. He completed internal medicine training at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey. As a medical student and resident, he worked under A. Paul Kelly, M.D. and Pearl Grimes, M.D.

He completed his dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and afterward joined its faculty, where he trained residents and dermatologists. He served as Co-Director of the Ethnic Skin Institute at SUNY Downstate and did dermatology research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, with a focus on HIV disease.

His practice centers on ethnic skin disorders and difficult skin care concerns for patients of every skin type. He has published and lectured on dermatology topics nationally and internationally, and has worked with print, radio and broadcast media. He is regarded as a leading authority on treating ethnic skin concerns and has received several awards and recognitions for his work in ethnic skin care. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the National Psoriasis Foundation, the National Eczema Association and the Skin of Color Society. He speaks English and Spanish.
